Adult Islamic Education

Al-Farooq Masjid has had a tradition of offering meaningful educational classes for individuals. The following programs are being offered this term.

Sunday Programs

1. Tafseer-e-Quran:
Time: 12:00 – 1:00 pm Speaker: MS
Detailed explanation of Quranic verses with emphasis on developing understanding of the Quran and its practical application in the daily lives of Mus lims.

2. Seerah Class:
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 pm Speaker: HH
One hour lecture on important aspects of the Prophets life and its impact on the way we should live our lives in the present time.

3. Sunday Reading and Recitation of Quran Classes for Sisters – Sr. Baherrah Music (404) 454-5762
Every Sunday 12:00-2:00pm in Ayesha Hall.

4. Arabic Language Class
Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Abu Bakr Hall

Educational Activities

1. Qur’anic Classes
Time: Between Maghrib and Ishaa from Sunday to Thursday
To educate adult Muslims (men) who do not know how to read Qur’an in the approved manner. Basic reading rules are inculcated with an intention to make sure that they learn to read Qur’an with proper Tajweed (intonation).

2. Classes for Learning Arabic
Time: Monday-Wednesday-Friday, After Isha: 60 minutes/ea.
The Classes are meant for those who are interested in learning the language of Qur’an – Arabic. Conducted thrice a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) after Isha Salah, the 45 to 60 minutes classes deal with basic rules and grammar which are taught to help the participant learn reading, writing, speaking. Besides, regular exercises are encouraged to ensure the efficiency in all required fields of the language. Additional weekend classes are held between 10:30 and 12:30 every Sunday.

3. Weekly Hadith Lesson
Time: Tuesday after Isha 25 minutes/ea.
Once in a week – on Tuesday after Isha Salah, a Hadith session is conducted in the Mosques. During the session which lasts for twenty-twenty five minutes, a particular topic is discussed in the light of the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (saws). Analyzing the present-day life of the community, Muslims are encouraged to learn from the life and sayings of the Prophet (saws) so that the same can permeate our lives and following them we can be a model to humanity.

4. New Muslim Practice of Islam Class
Time: Maghrib to Isha on Friday
